Flooding closes Laurel County road; People rescued from partially submerged car

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – People were rescued from the top of a car that was partially submerged in water that flooded Hopper Creek Road in Laurel County Friday night, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say it happened just before 10:30 p.m.  Hopper Creek Road was closed where it intersects Blackwater Road on one end and McFadden Cemetery Road on the other, according to deputies.
