County Clerk attracts supportive rally
LIBERTY, KY, (WTVQ) – Casey Davis, one of two clerks in Kentucky who are refusing to issue marriage licenses, met outside the old Liberty Courthouse with supporters.
According to the Casey County News, about 1,000 people from the county and surrounding areas came to sing and pray for the clerk on July 6, allegedly comparing him to heroes from the Bible.
Casey Davis’s County Clerk office announced, after the Supreme Court’s June 27 ruling that same-sex marriage would be supported nationwide, that they would no longer be issuing any marriage licenses at all.
