Fatal collision with rock embankment

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – KSP reported a fatal crash on July 8, that happened at approximately 1:13 in the morning.

The investigating trooper said 32-yeara-old Nelson W. Collier had been driving eastbound in his Dodge Caravan when he lost control around a curve. The car dropped off the westbound shoulder of KY HWY 80, KSP said, about five miles west of Manchester.

The car struck a rock embankment head-on, said Trooper Smith, and Collier had not been wearing a seat belt.

Clay County’s coroner office pronounced Nelson Collier dead at the scene.
