Stolen property quickly retrieved, man charged with burglary

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — Today, Richmond police charged a man in relation to a burglary that occurred on June 21.

A report was filed on the 21st, about several items stolen from an apartment on Lancaster Avenue. The report says there were no signs of forced entry, but mentioned the basement door was unsecure.

With a total value of over $2,500, stolen items included an Xbox, a Sigma Acoustic guitar, and two autographed UK baseballs, as well as a Peavey amplifier and an iHome speaker.

On the same day, one of the victims told police that they heard through the grapevine that one of their acquaintances had the stolen items. Police went to the residence of 22-year-old Taylor Deaton, and arrested him.

The stolen property was returned to the owners, and Deaton is being charged with 2nd degree Burglary.
