Police: Man shoots himself in the foot

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — A man accidentally shot himself in the foot on Thursday afternoon, says police.

According to the Sergeant at the scene,  a man in a pickup truck and trailer was reportedly stopped at a light in front of a Winchester Road KFC, when he jumped out of the truck to secure a loose gas canister on the trailer.

After exiting the vehicle, the concealed weapon he had been carrying apparently fired a single shot into his foot.

Officials say the man got back into his truck, and the driver took the vehicle a few blocks down where they could pull off, ending up at a business at Seventh and Winchester.

The man was licensed to conceal carry the weapon, police say, and was taken to the hospital for his injury.
