LGBT Pride Parade + Festival

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fairness Campaign announced a Pride Parade planned for June 19, starting at 7p.m.

Marching for “Black Lives Matter” and “Freedom to Marry”, more than 250 volunteers are expected to come, as well as thousands to participate or watch the parade. This event, says Fairness Campaign Director Chris Hartman, is meant to highlight their hope for a decision by the Supreme Court in favor of LGBT support and inclusion. It is also, he says, meant to affirm the nationwide movement for racial justice.

The parade will be followed by the Kentuckiana Pride Fesitival, which officials say is taking place at Belvedere, at 5th and Main streets. Admission to this event is $5, which authorities say will also include admission to many LGBT-friendly night clubs in Louisville.

The Festival is going on both Friday night after the parade, and Saturday, from noon to 11 p.m.
