Superintendent McNeel Retires
CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Corbin Independent School Superintendent, Ed McNeel, announced that he would be retiring, come January.
According to Corbin Independent Schools’ announcement, McNeel is the longest serving Superintendent in the state of Kentucky, with 23 years under his belt.
The Corbin School News says Corbin District schools have been ranked among the top 10 in the state, since McNeel began his tenure. McNeal stated, “We have made excellent progress in my years at Corbin, but the accomplishments are not because of me, they are due to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, support staff, administrators, and Board members.”
Previously working as a teacher, administrator, and Assistant Superintendent for Cabell County Schools in Weste Virginia, he currently serves as a Chair for SESC Cooperative, and the Local Superintendents Advisory Council. Ed McNeel also works on the Board of Directors for Kentucky School Superintendents Association and the Executive Board for Kentucky School Plant Management Association.
