UPDATE: Perryville hires new police chief
PERRYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A new police chief has been appointed in Perryville, after a 10-month vacancy.
Perryville resident and former Junction City police officer, Parker Hatter, was introduced to the residents by Mayor Anne Sleet and officially approved by council members on Thursday night.
“I’m excited,” said Hatter with a smile after the meeting.
Hatter is now filling a spot left vacant since August of last year, after former police chief Charlie Parks quit, followed shortly afterward by the city’s lone officer Larry Nunes. At the time, Parks said he was tired of Mayor Sleet’s micromanaging.
Before this new appointment, Perryville had been relying on the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office for coverage.
