KSP: Coal truck driver injured in Bell County crash
MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police say a coal truck driver had to be pulled from the wreckage after his semi overturned and came to rest over an embankment along KY 92 East in Bell County on Friday.
Investigators say 43-year old Charles S. Brooks of Middlesboro was airlifted to the hospital after being extricated from the 2007 Peterbilt tractor-trailer he was driving. State Police say his condition wasn’t immediately known.
State Police say Brooks lost control of the semi on KY 92 East, about five miles west of Pineville. KY 92 was closed for several hours while crews cleaned coal and debris from the road. The accident remains under investigation, according to State Police.
