Spokeswoman for Kentucky governor is leaving to take new job

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear’s spokeswoman is leaving the administration to take a job in the private sector.

Kerri Richardson will leave her job as communications director on June 26 to become vice president of C2 Strategic Communications in Louisville. She joined Beshear’s administration in 2009 and became communications director in 2011. As the governor’s chief spokeswoman she was often quoted in news stories on his behalf. The National Association of Government Communicators named her the National Communicator of the Year in 2014 for her work on kynect, Kentucky’s health insurance exchange.

Terry Sebastian will replace Richardson as communications director. He has had an extensive career in government communications, working for former Gov. Paul Patton, former Auditor Crit Luallen and former Treasurer Jonathan Miller.
