Man charged with unlawful imprisonment
Chief Larry Brock of the Richmond Police department said the officers arrived at the residence of 60-year-old Mark Blevins, after they were called about a request for medical help. When they arrived, officers met Blevin’s 84-year-old aunt, and said she thought her nephew needed assistance for an unknown medical condition.
Police and EMS say they discovered Blevins had been holding his aunt in the basement at night, making her stay in a chair and assaulting her when she tried to leave it. Police say Blevins also threatened to kill his aunt, on multiple occasions.
Blevins resisted arrest, Chief Brock said, when they attempted to take him into custody, and had to be subdued.
Blevins was lodged in the MCDC, and is being charged for first degree Unlawful Imprisonment, fourth degree Assault, Terroristic threatening, and resisting arrest.
