Son of hit-and-run victim continues search

MOREAHEAD, Ky (WTVQ) – Robert Luther was tragically killed 5 years ago, and his son has not forgotten.

Every year since that fateful day on May 26, 2010, Ryan Luther says he has returned to the area, handing out fliers at the nearby I-64 exit in a search for information about the driver who killed his father.

According to Luther, Robert had been experiencing car trouble that night, while returning to his home in Tennessee after Ryan Luther’s high school graduation. His father’s truck broke down on the side of the road in Rowan County, Luther says.

He says the Police have told him it was possibly a tractor-trailer manufactured in New York that hit and killed his father.

While new information on the case has not surfaced, Luther appears to remain hopeful, and reports that he replaces his father’s cross each year on that roadside.
