Students called heroes after rescuing kids in bus fire
LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Some students in Lawrence County are being called heroes after their quick, but calm action this morning during a bus fire.
The superintendent says about 50 students, from preschool to high school, were on board at the time. According to the superintendent, the driver pulled over when the engine started to smoke. The superintendent says some of the younger children froze up and weren’t moving. That’s when the high school students reportedly comforted them and got them off the bus before it went up in flames.
No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
