Worker killed at Louisville aluminum plant

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville Metro Police say a worker at an aluminum plant has been killed in an accident.

Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell told media the victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head on Monday morning while attempting to retrieve equipment from a machine inside Cardinal Aluminum. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell said the accident occurred in an area where painting takes place. The worker’s name was not immediately released.

Police and a crew from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
