Putting out a plane fire… Firefighters train for the worst

Each year, hundreds of firefighters from across the country converge on Blue Grass Airport to practice what they would do if a plane crashed in their city.

The Lexington airport has one of the 15 ARFF training sites in the country, something that they say is a honor.

Thursday night’s training had firefighters from Lexington, North Dakota, Louisville and other cities practicing everything from putting out flames to training how to rescue victims from inside the mock plane.

Take a look at the video above as ABC 36’s Paris Lewbel takes you inside the trailing and even tries firefighting himself.
