Fair exhibition to present story of Kentucky Constitution

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Visitors to the Kentucky State Fair this summer will be able to learn more about the state’s constitution that was first adopted in 1792.

The new exhibition, "From the ‘Powers That Be’ to the Power of WE: Exploring Our Constitution," includes illustrated storyboards, historical documents and artifacts and interactive media featuring touch-screen computer quizzes, a civil rights timeline and electronic profiles of the state’s founding fathers and suffrage leaders.

The State Fair Board says the project was inspired by the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta, and the state fair is also presenting a traveling exhibition on that document.

Both exhibitions will be in South Wing B during the fair, which runs from Aug. 20 to Aug. 30 at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
