Cops in Frankfort get different kind of tips for good cause
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- Tips poured into law enforcement groups Wednesday night in Frankfort. But they came as money for a good cause. The "Buffalo Wild Wings Cops Gone Wild for Special Olympics Kentucky" was held at B-Dubs on Jet Boulevard.
Frankfort police, Franklin County sheriff’s deputies, state police, and jailers pitched in. They served food to customers, and the money they received as tips was donated to Special Olympics. Organizers say the event also included a wing eating contest between police and deputies.
Special Olympics is the world’s largest program of sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Here in Kentucky, training and competition in local, area, state, and national programs is offered year-round in 15 sports. Click here for more information on the program.
