Crews investigate fire in downtown Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire at a home in downtown Lexington.

According to fire officials, the fire broke out on the first floor of the home on East Maxwell at around 9:35 a.m.  Crews were able to put the fire out about 15 minutes later.  A house next door was charred by the flames.  Firefighters say they do not know, at this time, how the fire started.

One person was taken to UK hospital for burns.  The condition of that patient and the extent of the injuries remains unknown.
