Corps announces campground openings in Ky., Va. W.Va.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntington District is preparing to open campgrounds at recreation areas in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia.
The corps says four West Virginia campgrounds will open April 24. They are Riffle Run and Bulltown at Burnsville Lake and Bakers Run and G.R. Freeman at Sutton Lake. Sutton Lake’s Bee Run campground opened April 1.
Also in West Virginia, Battle Run at Summersville Lake will open May 1, East Fork at East Lynn Lake will open May 15 and Guyandotte at R.D. Bailey Lake will open May 18.
In Virginia, Cranesnest, Lower Twin and Pound River at John W. Flannagan Dam and Reservoir will open May 15.
In Kentucky, Grapeville at Fishtrap Lake will open May 22. Dewey Lake’s Shoreline Area 1 will open May 23.
