Ticket prices for Final Four game soar

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Final Four gets underway on Saturday and for those that absolutely have to go and don’t yet have tickets, you might have to dig into those savings accounts.

Ticket prices for the 2015 games are the highest since 2011. Why?

“Three of the four schools involved are within driving distance of Indianapolis,” Connor Gregoire, an analyst at SeatGeek.com says. “Those core fan bases can make an easy trip by car to the Final Four."

If you have to have the best of the best seats, you might have to take out a loan. The most expensive we found Wednesday night is no April Fools’ joke. Seats in Section 39, Row Z will cost you a whopping $9,780!

But for those without endless supplies of cash laying around, there are still some ‘cheap’ seats available. They’ll only set you back about $350, but be warned, they’re nosebleeds.

“Let me remind you, this is a football stadium that we are talking about. The basketball court will take up a fraction of the size of a football field,” Gregoire says. “Being in the upper deck of this stadium is different than being in a upper deck of a basketball arena."

If you still really want to go to this year’s Final Four, maybe waiting a few days will save you.

“There’s a chance that prices will continue to fall all the way into Saturday morning,” Gregoire says. “I would wait at least another day and try to time my purchase Thursday night or Friday afternoon. Somewhere in there is probably a good time to buy."
