LPD: “Just Put It Down and Drive!”
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police are initiating a distracted driving enforcement campaign running through the month of April.
The campaign, called "Just Put It Down and Drive!" urges motorists to cut down on any activities that might take their focus off the road. Police say those behaviors can include:
- Texting
- Using a cell phone or Smartphone
- Eating and drinking
- Talking to passengers
- Grooming
- Reading, including maps
- Using a navigation system
- Watching a video
- Adjusting a radio, CD player, or MP3 player
The campaign is sponsored by a grant from the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety.
