Kentucky, West Virginia attorneys general wager on game

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — It’s not exactly the Hatfields and McCoys, but Kentucky and West Virginia do have a matter to settle — on the basketball court.

Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway and West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey are making a friendly wager on the outcome of the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional semifinal game Thursday between top seed Kentucky and No. 5 West Virginia.

Conway’s office says if Kentucky wins, Morrisey has promised to give Conway a piece made by Milton-based Blenko Glass Co.

If the Mountaineers defeat Kentucky, Conway will give Morrisey a Meacham’s country ham from Union County, where Conway’s father was born and raised.
