Detectives in Daviess re-examine 35-year-old slaying
Wortheam, who is now 81, told the Messenger-Inquirer that she hopes someone will come forward with information so she can finally learn what happened to Terri Howell.
Howell’s burned body was found in an abandoned farmhouse in far eastern Daviess County in 1980. No one was charged in the slaying.
Daviess County Sheriff Cpl. Mike Pearre says he is re-examining Howell’s case file in an effort to find additional leads in the case. Pearre says officials also are putting some details about the case on the agency’s Facebook page in an effort to get tips from the public.
Wortheam says she hopes the actions will provide answers in her daughter’s death.
