What The Cats Learned vs. South Carolina

Over the weekend, the UK men took care of business on the road at South Carolina.

Coach Cal has said it all season long, most teams are going to try and muck up the paint and get physical quick in order to create problems for the Cats.

But, as USC head man Frank Martin noted in his postgame comments, this UK team is not easily going to make mistakes like last year.

Kentucky is older…and as Cal noted following the win over the Gamecocks…this team keeps learning lessons as the season progresses.

That’s exactly what Saturday in Columbia was about…learning about physicality.

It wasn’t necessarily the Cats best win of the season, but at times, you could argue it was one of UK’s more complete SEC outings.

Frank Martin and South Carolina came out swinging, they just couldn’t keep taking the body blows the Cats were dealing throughout the game.

USC out-rebounded Kentucky, and held the Cats to just 3 offensive boards.

That’s clearly a problem moving forward, unless of course that’s something UK had planned on giving up in order to do other things well?

Hear from Cal in the video.
