Firm To Help Fayette Schools Establish Criteria For Hiring Supt.
In a letter that was released Wednesday to families, employees and community members, John Price said, "Your board team recognizes that before we can launch a search for the next Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent, we need to hear from you. I’m excited to share that we will soon begin a broad-based effort to gather input from all segments of our community."
Price said the district wanted feedback on the strengths and challenges the district was facing.
He said the Board of Education had met with the public engagement firm ‘K12 Insight’ to talk about the best ways to get input from the community.
Price said the work was included in the current contract and would not cost taxpayers any additional money.
He said the district planned to hold several public listening sessions.
He also encouraged local groups to brainstorm ideas and submit them.
"K12 Insight will work with district leaders to establish a set of questions to guide the conversations, and any interested organization can have someone trained to facilitate a session," said Price. "The questions and structure at each forum will be the same, regardless of where they happen. By having a common set of questions and a common reporting tool, we can ensure that every opinion receives equal consideration."
The district said anyone who was interested in hosting a group to share information with the board should contact Family and Community Engagement Liaison Jessica Berry at 859-381-4283 or jessica.berry2@fayette.kyschools.us.
