Laurel Deputies: Husband Arrested After He & His Wife Were Shot
Laurel County deputies said a man faced charges after both he and his wife were shot during a fight.
Investigators said Wille Cornett, 67, Corbin and Beverly Ellis, 47, Corbin, were arguing Monday night when they began to scuffle over a gun.
According to the sheriff’s office, both were shot and ended up at Baptist Health Care in Corbin and were later taken to U.K. Hospital in Lexington.
Deputies said Cornett was arrested Tuesday morning after he was released from the hospital.
He was charged with assault.
