Laurel Co. Warned About Rash Of Trailer Thefts

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said several utility trailers have been stolen in the past month.

Deputies said the rash of thefts happened in several areas, including Robinson Creek Road and the Cornett subdivision, south of London.

Other thefts had been reported on Good Branch Road off KY 830, and at Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores in London and Corbin.

According to investigators, most of the trailers stolen were single axles with ramps, and were valued between $1500 and $3000.

Deputies reminded trailer owners to make sure their trailers were locked and secured.

The sheriff’s office also said trailer VIN numbers should be documented.

If there was not a VIN number, owners were told to apply a unique number to the frame of the trailer.

There was a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the thefts.

Tipsters could remain anonymous and should contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s office at 606-864-6600 or 606-878-7000.
