Sheriff: Two Dead After Car Crashes Head-on Into Ambulance

Two people are dead after a car slammed head-on into an Owsley County ambulance Monday afternoon, according to Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue.

The accident happened near mile marker 8 on the Mountain Parkway in Clark County just before 3 p.m., Perdue said.

According to the sheriff, a car was traveling westbound when the driver lost control, drove through the median and slammed head-on into an Owsley County ambulance traveling in the other direction.

The sheriff said the two people inside the car were deceased on the scene and the Clark County Coroner has been dispatched to the scene.

Both medics inside the ambulance were taken to University of Kentucky Hospital.

One of medics was flown by a medical helicopter and the other was taken by a Clark County ambulance.
