Kentucky man indicted in 2012 Ohio slaying
HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — A Kentucky man accused in the slaying of a great-grandmother found dead in the trunk of her car in 2012 in southwestern Ohio has been indicted on charges including aggravated murder.
Butler County’s prosecutor said 56-year-old Daniel French, of Berea, Kentucky, was indicted earlier this month on charges that also included aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. The indictment was sealed until Wednesday to allow authorities to arrest French. He is being held by police in Berea.
Butler County plans to seek extradition to Ohio. It was not immediately clear whether French has an attorney.
Authorities found the body of 87-year-old Barbara Howe, of Monroe, in her car at an apartment complex a few miles from the retirement village where she lived.
