Teen who once faced murder charge sentenced to jail
A Louisville judge has sentenced a teen acquitted in the beating death of his stepbrother to 120 days in jail.
The teen, Joshua Young, has been in court in recent months on misdemeanor charges.
The Courier-Journal reports (http://cjky.it/1A0EtYt ) Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Mitch Perry told the 18-year-old he was giving him his "last chance." Perry sentenced him to serve 120 days.
Prosecutors had urged Perry to drop Young from a diversion program and send him to prison on a two-year felony sentence.
Young was originally accused by his father in 2011 in the beating death of Trey Zwicker. His father ultimately confessed to the murder in 2013 while Young was acquitted.
Young pleaded guilty in October to charges he taunted and punched a witness who testified against him at the murder trial.
