Update: Man Shot By Paris Police Dies

The Fayette County Coroner said the man shot by Paris police has died.

The Coroner said Eugene Ray Holder, 36, of Paris, died from a gunshot wound to the head early Tuesday morning.

According to police, Holder scuffled with Paris Police Officer Kevin Anderson after responding to a domestic violence call.
 
Investigators said Holder was standing at the door with a weapon when authorities arrived on the scene.

It was during the scuffle that Officer Anderson fired a shot at Holder, hitting him in the head.

He later died at UK Hospital.

Officer Anderson is a 7-year veteran of the Paris Police Department.

The case is under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
