UPDATE: Work Begins On St. Jude Dream Home In Lexington

Excavation work began this week on a Lexington house that will be raffled off for charity.

ABC 36 is the proud television partner of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway.

Starting in March, a total of 7,000 raffle tickets will be sold for a home that’s being built Pascoli Place in Lexington.

Each ticket will cost $100.

The house, which is in the Tuscany subdivision, is being built for free through donations from local builders and suppliers.

And all of the proceeds go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Its mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

Families do not receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.

St. Jude said its Dream Home Giveaway had raised more than $290 million since it began in 1991.
