Driver Dies In Fiery Crash
One person is dead after a fiery crash in Lexington early Wednesday.
It happened just after midnight on Hume Road near Adena Lane.
Police say a Chevy pickup truck slammed into a tree and then burst into flames.
We’re told the driver was heading west when the truck went off the road and hit a guard rail.
The driver then over-corrected, and went head-on into the tree.
Police also tell us there was ammunition inside the truck, creating some “popping” noises because of the fire. No one was hurt as a result of those going off.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, but has not yet been identified.
Police say they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
Hume road was closed for around three hours while crews cleared the scene.
