Lexington Schools Collect 67,000 Pounds Of Food For Needy

Fayette County public and private schools collected 67,000 pounds of food to help feed struggling Kentucky families.

It was part of the ‘Kids Can Fight Hunger’ campaign.

God’s Pantry Food Bank said the non-perishable items collected had a retail value of more than $113,000.

It said the schools had competed in divisions based on enrollment.

STEAM Academy, Meadowthorpe Elementary and Rosa Parks Elementary all received $500 cash prizes.
