Recount requested in McCracken clerk race
PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) — A candidate for McCracken County clerk has requested a recount in the race.
The Paducah Sun (http://bit.ly/1EyCqvz) reports there were only 149 votes separating Democrat Julie Griggs, who had 11,777 ballots cast for her, and Republican Becky Bowers, who had 11,628.
Bowers filed the request Wednesday with McCracken Circuit Court, saying her supporters weren’t comfortable with the results that close.
A hearing was set for Friday to determine the next steps for the recount to proceed.
