Lincoln Co. Coroner: Elderly Man Drowned After Fishing Accident
The Lincoln County Coroner said an elderly man drowned Wednesday afternoon after his canoe capsized in Cedar Creek Lake.
The victim was identified as Carl Linn, 75, Shelbyville.
Investigators said Linn had been fishing with his daughter when their boat flipped over.
The daughter and another man who was fishing nearby were reportedly not able to pull Linn back into the canoe.
Investigators said the two then pulled him back to shore.
The coroner said Linn’s death had been ruled an accidental drowning.
But investigators said the cold water and a medical condition had also been factors in the death.
