UPDATE: Lexington Bank Robbery Tied To Winchester Carjacking

Police said a man carjacked a vehicle in Winchester, then used it to rob a bank in Lexington.

Investigators said it began around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon when someone carjacked a Kia in the Winchester Walmart parking lot.

According to police, the car was later used in a robbery at First Security Bank on Sir Barton Way in Hamburg.

A witness reportedly wrote down the robber’s license plate.

Police said it was the same car that had been stolen in Winchester.

Officers said the abandoned Kia was later found in a parking lot at Hamburg Pavilion.

Police released a security photo taken during the robbery to see if anyone recognized the suspect.
