KSP: Harrison County Couples Death Ruled Murder/Suicide

On Monday, the Kentucky State Police along with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire at 2464 Grays Run Pike in Cynthiana.

KSPA said upon investigating the scene, two bodies were discovered inside the home. The coroner said they were Katharine Ann Thompson, 37, and James Thompson, 33, both died from gunshot wounds to the head.

Troopers said the deaths have been ruled murder/suicide with Katherine Thompson as the victim. The fire reportedly started in the kitchen-living room area, where both bodies were found.

The coroner said Katharine Thompson and James Thompson were married but did not live together.
