Lexington Church Celebrates 225 Years
In the same year George Washington was elected first president of the USA, a Lexington church first opened its doors.
First United Methodist Church celebrated 225 years Sunday. The church, with a rich history has moved multiple times and was the first Methodist church west of the Allegheny mountains.
It was also one of the first 100 Methodist churches in America. First UMC has been at its current location on West High Street since 1907.
