Motorcycle Rider Airlifted To Hospital After Collision In Laurel Co.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a motorcycle was airlifted to U.K. Hospital Tuesday after a collision on KY 552.

Deputies said it happened just before 1:00p.m. at Tackett Road, south of London.

According to investigators, a Buick headed westbound turned in front of the path of the eastbound motorcycle.

Deputies said the motorcycle driver had laid the bike down in an effort to avoid being hit by the car.

But the sheriff’s office said the biker was struck by the Buick.

Investigators said the motorcycle driver was flown to the hospital with critical injuries.

Deputies said the Buick driver, Courtney Stacy, 23, London, was cited for driving on a medically suspended license.
