UPDATE: Funeral Arrangements Set For Campbellsville Firefighter
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23 beginning at 1:00 p.m. CDT at Columbia Christian Church.
The funeral was scheduled for Wednesday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. CDT at Columbia Christian Church.
Captain Grider died Saturday at University of Louisville Hospital where he had been in critical condition since August 21, 2014.
Grider and fellow firefighter Alex Quinn were in a fire truck bucket operating the water nozzle, spraying the Campbellsville University Marching Band during an ice bucket challenge to raise awareness and research money for ALS.
Investigators said at the conclusion of the event, firefighters were moving the apparatus when it got too close to a high voltage power line, which energized the ladder truck, shocking the firefighters.
Captain Grider and firefighter Quinn were both airlifted to the hospital in Louisville.
Firefighter Quinn was released last week.
The two firefighters who were on the ground with the ladder truck, Steve Marrs, 37, and Alex Johnson, 28, were less seriously injured and treated at the hospital in Campbellsville.
