Two Juveniles Charged in Georgetown Train Collision

Two suspects were charged in connection to a railroad collision in Georgetown earlier this month.

The Norfolk Southern Police Department said William Blevins, 18, was charged with endangerment, criminal mischief, and railroad trespassing.

A second minor was charged with trespassing.

On August 4th, a train headed south collided with a rail car on the track near a crossing at East Main Street.

Investigators said at the time that two juveniles were seen in the area of where the collision happened.

Investigators wanted to find out if they had played a role in moving the rail car onto the main track.

The train engine was damaged in the accident and the conductor suffered minor injuries.
