Traffic Alert: Highway 460 In Scott County Shutdown Due To Accident
The collision reportedly happened just after 6:00 p.m.
The accident involved a tractor-trailer, a pickup truck and an SUV.
Investigators said four people were injured.
The semi driver was taken to UK Hospital in Lexington.
The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital in Frankfort and a couple in the SUV were transported to the hospital in Georgetown, according to Sheriff’s Deputies.
No names were released.
The seriousness of the injuries was unknown, but investigators said all four victims were conscious and talking at the accident scene.
Investigators said the tractor-trailer driver, who was hauling auto parts to the Toyota plant in Georgetown, went off the shoulder of the road, over-corrected and triggered the accident.
Sheriff’s Deputies said the trailer portion of the semi "disintegrated" in the accident and auto parts were scattered throughout the accident scene.
Investigators said a power pole was knocked down in the accident and live wires were draped across the semi.
Some Kentucky Utilities customers near the Scott-Franklin County line were without power, according to the KU online outage map.
The accident remained under investigation.
