Man Accused Of Stealing From Elderly Woman
Police accuse a man of stealing from an elderly woman by convincing her to sign over blank checks.
According to court documents, Walter Abney, 41, charged the 84-year-old woman for construction work that he did not do then had her sign her name to two checks without putting in the amount.
Police said Abney then returned to get more money from the woman, who had filed a police report by then.
Abney is charged with knowingly exploiting an adult for over $300 and theft by deception for over $500.
