Kentucky man raising awareness for adults with special needs from afar

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Kentucky man no longer lives in the state but his non-profit Buddies of The Bluegrass Inc. continues.

Brack Duncan is the owner and founder of the non-profit which helps raise awareness for adults with special needs, “And while we do that, we’re raising awareness to pay for families who live in Kentucky to adopt children with special needs.”

Duncan says his friend Josh inspired him to start the non-profit, “Just the lessons he taught me were very valuable in life and just how to live and how to treat people. Four of my sibilings are adopted so, this was a way to marry those passions.”

The organization is family-run, “My soon to be brother-in-law is Executive Director. So he does that, my parents run the shop from our house in Winchester.”

While Duncan now lives in New York, he continues to raise awareness about the organization’s mission and is doing so now by selling photographs.

Duncan is the owner of Brack Duncan Photo on Etsy. During the month of February, Duncan says 100% of proceeds from the Etsy sales will go to Buddies of the Bluegrass.

“When you purchase a digital download, it’s $5. And then there’s a package there with Broadway Theatres and that’s $10 and those come with five photos,” explained Duncan. After the purchase, a download link will send.
