Cold start to Wednesday after driver ends up in frozen pond

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Things got off to a frigid start Wednesday morning when a driver ended up in a frozen pond.

Lexington Police say a car was accidentally knocked out of gear and rolled into a pond at an apartment complex on Kirklevington Drive around 5:00 a.m.

Police say the driver was able to safely escape the cold water.

It took about two hours to remove the car from the pond, according to police.
