Prestonsburg mayor latest to battle case of coronavirus

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Another local elected official is dealing with the coronavirus personally.

Prestonsburg Mayor Les Stapleton has been diagnosed with the virus as well as pneumonia.

In a Facebook post Monday, the mayor said, “Hardest part about this is how to start the post. I have been diagnosed with COVID. I was tested on Saturday night and I am in quarantine. I am one of the fortunate ones in that I have minor symptoms except for a case of pneumonia being treated with medication. I can/will be conducting business and meetings via internet and return to work on the 19th.
