One injured in Polo Club crash, road back open

UPDATE, POSTED 11 A.M.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Polo Club Boulevard has been reopened following a morning accident that seriously injured one person and closed the road inbound from Winchester Road to Man ‘O War Boulevard.

The accident happened at about 9 a.m., when a Toyota Highlander swerved into the rear of a City of Lexington street sweeper. The driver of thr Highlander was not injured but the female passenger was when the SUV crashed into the rear of the sweeper, caving in the front passenger side of the vehicle.

She was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The driver of the street sweeper also was not injured.

The road was closed to clean up fluids that leaked from the vehicles.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A busy Lexington road is partially blocked off, after a crash Wednesday morning.

According to Lexwrecks, a serious crash happened on Polo Club Blvd at Fitzgerald Court.

Traffic officials report access to Polo Club Blvd from Winchester Road is being shutdown. There is a report of an injury.
