Development district names Shane New new deputy director

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Shane New has been promoted from director of community planning to deputy executive director at trhe Bluegrass Area Development District.

The district’s board made the decision this week.

New has been with BGADD for 23 years, starting as an intern and moving to been the GIS/Information Technology manager and then seven years ago to Community Planning Director.

“I’m very excited that the Board chose to appoint a Deputy Director. Shane New is an excellent choice, someone who compliments my skill sets and someone who is not shy to point out my blind spots. We make a great team and I look forward to seeing how we can help the region grow in the coming years,” said Executive Director David Duttlinger.

BGADD is the regional council of government and federally designated Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living, serving 17 counties in Central Kentucky since 1971.
