Anticipation Builds for UK/Louisville Showdown

The Wildcats and Cardinals didn’t see much of each other in the postseason before 2012, but two years later, history almost appears to be repeating itself.

Of course, the difference here is the two are competing in the Sweet 16 instead of the Final Four, but it’s still a matchup that has everyone on edge.

Emotions are particularly high as both teams are well-matched offensively and defensively, although Kentucky is averaging around seven possessions less than Louisville in tournament play.

With so much intensity expected in tonight’s game, Lexington police are gearing up to keep everyone as safe as possible. Extra crews are being called in and a command center has been relocated close to UK’s campus to make sure everyone celebrates responsibly, without a flareup of the riots that happened in 2012.
